City Clerk/Treasurer

General Duties

Under administrative direction from the Mayor and City Council, the City Clerk/Treasurer will direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities and operations of the City Clerk’s Office including: preparation and recording of the activities and decisions of the City Council; codification and maintenance of official City records; administering municipal elections; coordinating assigned activities with outside agencies; interfacing with the general public; and providing highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Council and Mayor.

Minimum Requirements
  • Five years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping including payroll experience

  • At least two years’ experience using a business accounting program

  • A minimum of a two-year college degree in business administration, accounting, finance or a related field (can substitute for 4 years of experience)

  • Demonstrated spreadsheet, database, and word processing skills

  • Knowledge of, or proven ability to learn, technical software applications

  • Previous supervisory experience
